For Teams and Communities
Â
Strengthening workforce and community capacity through applied physiology.
Many teams are working under sustained cognitive, emotional, and physical demand.
At the same time, many of the people they support have been signposted or discharged, but are not yet in a position to engage consistently with self-management or wider support.
In both cases, it’s not a lack of advice. It’s a question of capacity.
Small Shifts works at that level.
When demand remains high, the body adapts. This begins to affect focus, recovery, sleep, and the ability to take in and act on support.
By improving breathing patterns, reducing unnecessary muscular tension, and supporting recovery, people are better able to function, think clearly, and engage with what’s already in place.
A connected approach
Small Shifts supports both teams and the people they work with, through the same underlying mechanism.
For teams
A structured 4–6 week programme supporting staff working under sustained demand. It helps to:
- regulate under pressure
- maintain clearer focus
- reduce background tension
- recover more reliably between periods of demand
Delivered through live, facilitator-led sessions, with guided resources and the option to train internal facilitators.
As teams experience the approach themselves, they develop a clearer understanding of the work and feel more confident recommending it.
Workforce Capacity Programme
For individuals and community partners
A structured small-group programme for people who are medically stable but not yet able to engage consistently with support.
It supports those experiencing ongoing stress, disrupted sleep, fatigue, or persistent physical tension.
The focus is on rebuilding breathing efficiency, reducing unnecessary tension, and supporting more reliable recovery, creating the conditions for self-management to become more accessible and sustainable.
