Finding Your Pace
Understanding why movement feels difficult and developing the skills to make it easier.
Do you find yourself wanting to be more active, but struggling to get started?
Perhaps you feel more tired than you'd like. Maybe you get out of breath more easily, lack confidence with exercise, or find yourself starting and stopping activity programmes.
You're not alone. Many people know that being active is important, but still find movement difficult to maintain. Life gets busy, energy feels limited, motivation comes and goes, and activity can begin to feel harder than it once did.
Finding Your Pace is a new small-group programme designed to help people better understand why movement feels difficult and develop the skills to make it easier.
Rather than focusing on pushing harder, doing more, or relying on motivation, the programme explores how the body responds to activity and why factors such as breathing, stress, recovery, fatigue, confidence, and physical capacity can influence our willingness and ability to move.
By understanding these responses, it becomes easier to work with your body rather than against it.
Sessions combine simple education, practical breathing exercises, gentle movement activities, guided discussion, and everyday strategies that can be applied between sessions.
We'll explore
- How breathing influences effort, recovery, and physical activity
- How stress can affect energy and movement
- Why breathlessness, fatigue, and discomfort can sometimes become barriers to activity
- How confidence and previous experiences shape our relationship with movement
- Practical ways to gradually build activity levels and physical capacity over time
The focus is on helping you better understand your body and develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills that make movement feel more manageable, sustainable, and achievable in everyday life.
